Rhys Adams : About Me

My name is Rhys Adams, and I am 28 years old. I live in Derby, with my partner Sam and my son Charlie. I'm a very busy boy, who likes to come up with new and exciting business ideas. 

I am currently the Director of a few companies including Cocoon Group, Forklift Agency and Derby Weddings. The majority of the ideas around the businesses have come from myself but I could not have done any of this without the other guys.

I previously worked for Sunwin Motors in Derby as a Group Marketing Support Manager under the Group Marketing Manager; Matthew Ward. My job was fantastic and the fact that I never exactly knew what I'll be doing from one day to the next, kept the job fresh and exciting. One day I could be designing leaflets, the next day I could be fixing PC's.

Outside of work I have always had "mad" business ideas; I currently help run a company called Forklift Agency. I run this with my Mum and her Partner Jeff. It is doing really well and we currently have over 30 instructors working for us. For my page on Forklift Agency - Click Here

Old business ideas I have had; Fridge/Freezer rentals for people with CCJ's and Students, A sandwich van called Arnies Sarnies, Sim Free Mobile Phone Website, Websites for Small Businesses (Small Busy Web), and a few more ideas - some of which cannot be put on here due to censorship!

I help quite a bit with many local charities and am currently working on a small project to make £1 million pound, to be split between 4 different charities including; Wish upon a Star and RSPCA. I have not managed to sign anymore charities up yet but would like a Cancer charity as I have lost 3 family members now from this disease and maybe something like the British Heart Foundation.

I have many hobbies and interests including Photography, Computers, Reading, Traveling, Motorsport, Cars and many more...

Photography; Although I have a really nice camera (Canon 350d) I don't really know how to use it. My favourite bit of the "photography" bit is editing in photoshop. Designing different styles of photos.

Computers; I was 16 when I first had a PC, one of the last of my friends. But I enjoyed using PC's to do many things. When we finally got the internet at home I decided to teach myself HTML, I started my reading the source code of each website and working out which code did which function.
For some reason everybody lets me have there computer problems now, and to be honest alot of the time I do not know what I am doing. I just look at the logical answers to try and solve a problem.
Recently I have jumped on the Apple Mac band wagon, I started with a Mac Mini, but now I have an 24" iMac and a Macbook.

Reading; I enjoy reading Magazines and Books, I tend to read magazines more as I like to keep up to date with the latest new, gadgets and products on the market. When I do read book, I tend to read autobiographies; my favourite being Duncan Bannatyne's, this book gave me so much inspiration and ambition.

Traveling; I really really love to get about, especially in the car. Every spare weekend we have, we will jump in the car and go somewhere. I try to go to places I have never been before but cannot resist the likes of Whitby, Bakewell or Wales!
I have been to Canada a few times, in the middle of Summer and at the opposite end of the scale, in the middle of winter. Canada is such a beautiful place, and I really enjoyed Niagara Falls and walking around the Grand Prix track in Montreal.
We have just come back from Orlando, Florida. It was our first time and definitely won't be our last. The place is so magical and Disney makes you feel so much younger.
My other favourite place is Berlin. If you ever get chance, jump on a very cheap flight from Ryanair or Easyjet and go! Christmas feels like Christmas, and everyone is so friendly. Make sure you queue to go up the Reichstag.

Motorsport; I enjoy following motorsport, and used to be a regular at Donington Park. Lewis Hamilton has re-lit my love for Formula 1 but I have still not been to a race! I have promised Charlie that I will try and take him to see it in Montreal. I have been to see the F1 testing at Silverstone. I also went to Eddie Jordan's 10th anniversary celebration, that was fantastic.

Cars; I love cars, and working at Sunwin I am in the ideal job. As well as my motoring blogs within my personal site, I do write a few articles for different websites and also contribute to some motoring forums. As for me, I had an Alfa Romeo Brera 2.4jtdm. It was lovely, but kept breaking down all of the time! Then I had an Audi A4 Avant on a 7 month lease, and recently I have taken delivery of a VW Scirocco. I have owned several cars in the past including a 1983 Mercedes-Benz 280CE Pillarless Coupe - I miss this car so much!
