Rhys Adams was born in the March of 1981 to Colin Adams and Andrée Askin, at that time Colin and Andrée were not living together. So Andrée and Rhys lived with Alf and Jean, Andrée’s parents on Hillside Road in Spondon.
Rhys’ memories were very clear from when he was younger, and he does actually remember living on Hillside Road. One of his earliest memories was his Mum going to buy Ice Creams from the van. The drive was very steep and the slabs all over the place, Andree slipped and dropped the Ice Creams. He also remembers playing in the mud at this house, with his dog Ziggy.
Rhys was very close to his grand parents, even after moving out to Borrowash once Colin and Andrée had purchased there house on Derby Road, Rhys would still go and stay with his Nanny and Alf every other weekend either at their house or at there Caravan in Ashbourne.
Rhys’ first baby sister was born in the June of 1984, he remembers it vividly as he was staying with his Grandad Gunther and Grandma Mary. His Ad telephoned the house from the hospital and announced that he had a baby sister.
