Vehicle Movement Company

July 3, 2009
We started Cocoon Vehicle Movement a few weeks ago and already the booking are flowing in! We have managed to cover most of the jobs that have come in, but a lot of the companies out there are very competitive.

Things are looking good and the vans are almost ready to go on the road to start the sameday courier service from Derby and Nottingham to anywhere in the UK.

Cocoons future is looking bright! PS. We still do cars at Cocoon!

Maldives (Velidhu) - Day 6

June 29, 2009
Wednesday started off quite late on, Sam woke around 8.30am who asked if we were bothered about breakfast. I said no, and hit the pillow again… Woke about 12!
We got out of bed at about 12ish, got dressed and headed, again in Zombie fashion, in the heat to the restaurant. I really didn’t feel hungry, but I was very thirsty. The food was too tempting to turn down so I had a bit of everything from the grill and a bit of salad.
Even though I said I wasn’t hungry, I still managed to polish of...

Maldives (Velidhu) - Day 5

June 29, 2009
We woke around 9ish and felt absolutely drained. I’m sure I walked to the restaurant looking just like a zombie out of Shaun of the Dead!
I had more breakfast than usual, as I knew we had got a boat trip leaving at 10am. And wanted something in my stomach to chuck up if I did get sea sick.
When we finished we had a slow walk round to the taxi jetty via the sea bungalows. The staff checked us in and we sat and waited to be boarded.
The boat looked like something that was used in the ancient tim...

Maldives (Velidhu) - Day 4

June 29, 2009
Monday today, and started as early as normal at about 8ish. Walked to the restaurant to get some Brekkie. As per usual it was a full English mixed with a bit of continental cheese and meat to help me fit in with the Germans.
We headed back to the hut, via the reception yet again. And hit the pillow, I’m really not sure if it is the heat that is knocking us all out or if it is the time difference. But we all managed to sleep in our lovely air conditioned hut until lunchtime.
Lunchtime, we went...

Maldives (Velidhu) - Day 3

June 29, 2009
Got up for about 8ish and went for breakfast in the restaurant. The walk there was a sign of the weather for the day. Red Hot!
For breakfast I had the almost typical full English, except for adding a few fried potatoes, but ensuring that I polished off a bottle of water and a couple of cups of tea.
Whilst eating at our table, a German guy next to him had a parrot or brightly coloured bird of some sort land on his shoulder. The waiter scared him off and the parrot.
After breakfast we had a wander...

Maldives (Velidhu) - Day 2

June 29, 2009
We all woke bright and early, but in pain as Charlie had slept in the middle of us. Charlie is not the easiest person to share a bed with, he fidgets and kicks. Sometimes it ends in tears, and they are not his.
We got dressed and headed to the Restaurant for breakfast. The waiter again sat us down and served us cups of tea. We went and had a look around at the choice of food. There were continental breakfasts with Cheese, Meat and Bread Rolls, there were waffles and a number of sauces. There w...

Maldives (Velidhu) - Day 1

June 29, 2009
We landed about 15 minutes ahead of schedule. We stepped out of the plane into just instant heat. We stepped about 50 yards from the plane into the air conditioned terminal.
We passed through Passport control and were given our Visas. From here it was another few yards to the baggage collection area. Within minutes the carousel started and our bags came out.
We then, bizarrely had to have our bags x-rayed before we went out into the Arrival area of the airport. This is the quickest time I have ...

James Purnell's Resignation Letter

June 4, 2009

Dear Gordon,

We both love the Labour Party. I have worked for it for 20 years and you for far longer. We know we owe it everything and it owes us nothing.

I owe it to our party to say what I believe no matter how hard that may be. I now believe your continued leadership makes a Conservative victory more, not less likely.

That would be disastrous for our country. This moment calls for stronger regulation, an active state, better public services, an open democracy.

It calls for a government...
